Dear Colleague,
The 28th Irish Signals and Systems Conference, ISSC 2017, technically sponsored by IEEE UK and Ireland Signal Processing Chapter, will be held in Killarney, Co. Kerry on 20-21 June 2017 and hosted by the IT Tralee and Cork IT.

Call for Papers

Over the past 28 years, ISSC has become the premier conference in Ireland addressing all aspects of signals and systems. The conference focuses on Digital Signal Processing, Control, Communications, and related fields of ICT, and encompasses algorithm and system modelling, design, and implementation, for a broad range of applications. On behalf of the Organising Committee I would like invite you to participate in the 28th Irish Signals and Systems Conference, ISSC 2017.

Subject to the conference registration requirements all accepted papers will be published by IEEE eXpress Conference Publishing in the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore Digital Library. All Xplore-accepted publications are forwarded to Elsevier’s EI Compendex for indexing.

This year’s ISSC will have a strong industrial contribution. We are curently in the process of securing Industry plenary speakers.

We also welcome submissions for Special Sessions on novel or emerging areas of research in signal processing, control and communications, particularly in relation to our theme: "Internet of Things". Papers relating to engineering education in the thematic areas are also welcome. Please contact the conference General Chair (chair@issc.ie) or Technical Program Co-Chair (technical@issc.ie) with your suggestions.

Submission Guidelines

Prospective authors are invited to submit a 6-8 page (A4) fully formatted manuscript of original research.

Papers must be submitted via the online paper submission system - see Submit Your Paper on the conference website - . Paper applications will not be accepted by email.

Prospective authors are invited to submit a six-page maximum, fully formatted manuscript, in PDF format, reporting original research – see Guide For Authors page on the conference website -

A very limited number of Virtual Presentations will be permitted for those facing traveling difficulties. Permission to present virtually must be sought from the Conference Chair beforehand. Guidelines for Virtual Presentations will be made available in due course.

All papers will be reviewed by at least three members of the Technical Programme Committee. Following review, authors will be informed whether their paper is accepted and, if accepted, whether it will be orally presented or presented as a poster. The Technical Programme Committee will select high quality papers containing original work.

The Programme Committee will select high quality papers containing original work. The Programme Committee encourages submissions that include implementation or simulation aspects, along with theoretical analysis and design. There will be prizes for the best paper and the best poster presented at the conference.

We look forward to welcoming you to Kerry this summer.

Best Regards,
