Welcome to the 36th
Irish Signals and Systems Conference
ISSC 2025
Monday 9th - Tuesday 10th June 2025
hosted by Atlantic Technological University, Letterkenny
About Conference
Atlantic Technological University and the ISSC2025 organising committee would like to extend a warm Donegal welcome to all prospective participants of this year’s conference. For 2025 we have developed a special conference theme of
“THE IRISH SIGNALS & SYSTEMS CONFERENCE: SIGNALLING OUR STRENGTH”
This encompasses the rich 35-year history of the conference and will appeal to electronic engineers and computer scientists, in addition to those from wider cross-disciplinary domains.
In the year 2025 the world differs greatly to that of 35 years ago; humans, systems and signals are more advanced. The conference theme aims to reflect these advancements by focusing on interconnectivity between all components, including everything from humans, signals, systems & the internet of everything. Amelioration of AI and SMART technologies and the emergence of disruptive technologies make 2025 an exciting time to be involved in research. ISSC2025 will bring together academia and industry in a friendly collegial environment to share and discuss the latest development and ideas. The full range of topics are available here.
The target audience of ISSC2025 ranges from Senior researchers to Ph.D. and Master students. Researchers and engineers from companies are very welcome, and may greatly benefit from the broad vision provided by this conference.
ISSC2025 will be hosted by the Atlantic Technological University, Letterkenny in the beautiful county of Donegal. The conference banquet will take place in the stunning Castle Grove Country House. With the spectacular location and exciting content, this year’s event is not to be missed.
We invite academic and industrial research papers from all the topics listed. All accepted contributions will be indexed by IEEE Xplore, subject to IEEE requirements (including authorship), and meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements.
ISSC2025 will present Best Paper Awards which should not be missed.
We look forward to meeting you in June for a very interesting and enjoyable gathering of like-minded academics, scientists, engineers and students. Good luck with your research.
The Irish Signals and Systems Conference (ISSC) 2025 will be hosted by ATU Donegal, taking place on Monday, June 9, and Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Dr. Eoghan Furey previously chaired ISSC 2020, which transitioned online due to COVID restrictions. With the attendees unable to visit Donegal in 2020, Dr. Furey and Ruth Lennon successfully applied to host ISSC 2025 at ATU Donegal, fulfilling their commitment to bring the conference back in person. This 36th edition of ISSC will be especially notable, as it marks only the second time a female chair will lead the event. Ruth Lennon will serve as the general chair, with Dr. Furey as vice-chair. The last in-person ISSC hosted in Donegal was in 2013, chaired by Nigel McKelvey.
“The Atlantic Technological University in Letterkenny has a strong reputation for running conferences and large research events. Spreading knowledge and fostering strong collaborations with industry has always been central to our research and teaching ethos. The ISSC brings together researchers, leaders and industry experts to share the state of the art in their field.”
Ruth Lennon – Conference Chair
“It’s a great honour for ATU to host the conference again, “We had prepared an in-person event in 2020, then had to adapt to an online format. We promised to bring ISSC back, and we’re delighted to have that opportunity in 2025. ISSC remains Ireland’s premier computing and electronics conference, with all papers indexed by IEEE Xplore. This is a valuable opportunity for academics and students to build research networks and for ATU to continue strengthening our research community.
Dr. Eoghan Furey – Conference Vice Chair
Enjoy the conference then…
